A couple days ago I received a long awaited email from an ILP rep. The first few lines of it reads:
"3/31/2014
Dear Maegan,
Congratulations! You have officially been assigned to the Xiaolan-Zhong 2 school in China for the Fall 2014 semester. We are confident that you will do an excellent job with your group of teachers."
I am beyond excited to have this opportunity to live in Xiaolan, Zhongshan, Guangdong, China (that's sure a mouthful!) It's a bit intimidating to be going as a Head Teacher, but I'm sure I will do a great job!
I do not know my departure dates yet, but will find out soon as things are unraveling as time goes on. I will continue working on the appropriate documents I need to turn in, as well as getting signed up for the trainings I need to attend.
I sure do miss St Petersburg, and wish I could go back everyday. It is not somewhere I would want to live permanently, but I would love to visit the city, and the people I know there, again! Maybe one day I can go back. For now, I am excited for the next chapter in my life.
I hope you all like the new set up and look of my blog. I wanted something fresh for this year. You may notice in the archives that all of my Russian posts are still there, as I want to keep them there for future volunteers, or for any of us who want to back down memory lane.
Please take note that I have changed the link of my blog to "maeganstravels.blogspot.com", so it is no longer "maegangoestorussia.blogspot.com"
Thank you for all your love and support.
Maegan
